On Sunday, my Pastor shared that the word Lent means spring. Living in Chicago, the idea of a beautiful warm spring seems so wanted and yet so far off. This got me thinking about Lent this year and how I could benefit from this time. What should I use it for? Some Christians give up luxuries during Lent as a way to experience sacrifice, a reminder of how Christ sacrificed. Others add a special practice; a daily devotional, fasting, or doing more service.
For me, Lent has always been a time to look inward. A time to focus on my faith, and use it as a basis for renewal. A yearly internal spring cleaning of sorts. How should I do it this year?
One thing that I know about myself is that I have a passion to learn new things, and I love to share what I learn. With this in mind, this Lenten season, Henrieta and I decided that we are going to use this time to learn, look and listen. We would like to share what we find with you. Daily insights on ways to use this time for exploration and personal growth.
We invite you to join us on this Lenten journey.
